Account recovery guide for your DFlow mobile app account.

As of today, we are temporarily removing support for passkeys for new users. We will be adding support back very soon!

Existing users meaning users who created accounts prior to today (7/17) will still get access to passkeys.

We will release an option for you to switch back and forth between passkey and no passkey signing shortly.

No Passkey / MFA users (New)

For new users (after 7/17), your account is tied to the email or phone number you used to create the account. As long as you have access to your email or phone number, you can regain access to your account.

For example, if you lost your phone, you can easily regain access by logging into your account on your new phone with the same email or phone number (and verifying).

Passkey / MFA Users (Existing)

This is for users who created an account prior to 7/17.

DFlow embedded wallets are protected by passkeys which are stored on your device's password manager like iCloud or Google Password Manager. We don't allow you to delete passkeys so the only way you can lose access to your account is if you lost access to your iCloud account, Google Password Manager or whichever password manager you used to set up your passkey initially.

If the above is the case, you must go through iCloud or Google Password Manager's recovery process. See Dynamic's docs for how to recover your iCloud, Google Password Manager o 1Password account.

New or Lost Device

The benefit of securing your account through passkeys is that they are tied to your iCloud or Google Password Manager. This means as long as you have access to your Apple or Google account, you can easily use your DFlow account on another device.

This is a crucial advantage of accounts protected by passkeys vs. ones where you have to remember seed phrases (i.e. you expose your private key when you transfer them from one device to another). On DFlow, you maintain custody of your own funds while enjoying added security benefits.

Remember, DFlow accounts require your passkey to sign transactions so if your phone was stolen, the attacker would need access to your iCloud or Google account to steal your funds.
